KAMPALA: Pakistan has said that the current multi-dimensional global challenges can only be overcome through effective international collaboration.

While delivering Pakistan’s national statement at the 19th Non-aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Kampala, Uganda, Additional Foreign Secretary (UN) Ambassador Syed Haider Shah outlined Pakistan’s firm commitment to the Non-aligned Movement and its founding principles.

He also expressed Pakistan’s resolve to support the Movement’s efforts towards cooperation, peace, equality, and well-being for all.

Pakistan Calls for Urgent Reforms in Finance and Trade System

The ambassador demanded urgent action to reform the systems of trade, finance, and technology to ensure sustained and balanced socio-economic growth, especially in developing nations.

Additional Foreign Secretary also urged for an early resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir conflict in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Ambassador Haider Shah is leading the Pakistan delegation to the summit after Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani had to cut short his official trip in view of tensions with Iran on the border.
