Pakistan Committed to Protect Human Rights: Law Minister

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar on Thursday met Canadian High Commissioner Leslie Scanlon in Islamabad.

They discussed matters pertaining to the Human Rights Commission and policies regarding minorities.

Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said the government is committed to protecting and upholding human rights. He said national development is the topmost priority of Pakistan’s government.

The Minister said both opposition and government are an integral part of the democratic system.

He said measures are being taken at the government level for environmental sustainability.
