ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned an attack by extremists on its consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, criticizing German authorities for failing to protect the premises.

Under the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, 1963, the host government is responsible for ensuring the security of consular premises and diplomats.

The incident, which occurred Saturday, endangered the lives of consular staff, prompting Pakistan to lodge a strong protest with the German government.

Pakistan urges Germany to fulfill its obligations under the Vienna Convention and ensure the security of its diplomatic missions and staff in Germany.

Additionally, Pakistan calls for immediate measures to arrest and prosecute those involved in the attack and to hold accountable those responsible for the security lapses.
