ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has unequivocally denounced a terrorist attack in Iran, resulting in killing of Pakistani citizens, a Foreign Office statement said on Saturday.
In a statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch termed it as a horrifying and despicable incident in Iran. She said that the government is in contact with Iranian officials, emphasizing the immediate need to probe the incident and hold answerable those involved in this heinous crime.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch mentioned that Pakistan’s Consul in Zahedan is en route to the hospital where wounded individuals are being treated, and is likely to arrive in a few hours due to the long distances and security necessities involved.

During his trip, he will also meet with local officials and, among other things, stress the immediate need for strong action against the culprits of this crime, the statement added.
She declared that Islamabad is fully aware of the gravity of this matter and is taking all necessary steps. The embassy of Pakistan in Theran is committed to expeditiously repatriating the deceased.
The Spokesperson expressed resolve, saying that such cowardly assaults cannot deter Pakistan from its determination to fight terrorism.
Earlier, local media reported that Unidentified gunmen in southeastern Iran, near the Pakistan border, killed nine Pakistanis. The attack took place in the Sirkan neighborhood of Saravan city in Sistan-Baluchistan province. Pakistan Ambassador to Iran Mudassir Tipu has also demanded a comprehensive investigation into the incident. He added that the Pakistani embassy in Tehran will provide full assistance to the grieving families.
