DUBAI: The Pakistan Consulate in Dubai has organized an event to mark Kashmir Black Day which was attended by members of the Kashmiri and Pakistani communities.
The day was observed to honour the constant struggle of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Hussain Muhammad, Consul General addressing the gathering, thanked the participants for attending the event and showing solidarity with the oppressed people of Kashmir.
He said that the day is a reminder of the unresolved issue and unfulfilled pledges made under the resolutions of the UN Security Council. “The people of IIOJK continue to face hardships for over seven decades”, said the Consul General.
Hussain said that Pakistan continues to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir asking all, especially youth, to play an active role in creating awareness about the Kashmir issue on all forums.
“In today’s digital world, our youth must highlight the Kashmir issue on the international stage so that the world remains informed about the continued struggle of the Kashmiri people,” stressed the Consul General.
Messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan on Kashmir Black Day were also read out during the event. The Pakistani leadership reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the Kashmiri cause in the messages.
A special documentary regarding the struggle and hardships of the people of IIOJK was also shown.
Representatives from the Kashmiri community acknowledging continued support of Pakistan also addressed the gathering. During their speeches, they extended gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for supporting the people of Kashmir in the struggle for self-determination.
