ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has intensified its efforts to repatriate foreign nationals, primarily Afghan citizens, residing unlawfully in the country. Over the last 24 hours, a total of 693 illegal Afghan nationals were safely returned to their homeland, marking a significant milestone in the repatriation initiative. The cumulative number of repatriated immigrants has now reached 460,881.
The repatriation operation, executed with precision, involved the use of 23 vehicles to transport 200 men, 164 women, and 329 children back to Afghanistan. This concerted effort is part of the strategic plan outlined by the apex committee of the National Action Plan (NAP). In a pivotal meeting on October 3, the committee set a deadline, until October 31, for all foreign nationals, providing them with the option to leave voluntarily or face deportation.

The government of Pakistan has been actively facilitating the repatriation process, with a particular focus on the Torkham and Chaman borders. The coordinated approach aims to ensure a seamless and secure return for individuals who had been residing in the country without proper legal authorization. This comprehensive initiative reflects Pakistan’s commitment to addressing immigration challenges and upholding the principles of national security.
