Pakistan Cricket Captain Babar Azam Admits Mistakes in Series Against England

KARACHI: Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam admitted on Sunday that the team did not play well in the last Test series against England.

He hoped that they would come back in the upcoming series against New Zealand starting from December 26 in Karachi.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, Babar Azam said that the team squad has not yet been finalized for the series against New Zealand.

He said that consultations will be held with selectors to finalize the playing 11 squad. He rejected the impression that they did not select the right combination against England.

The Pakistani skipper said that they tried their best during the test series against England.

Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board and the New Zealand Cricket agreed to shift the 2nd Test from Multan to Karachi because of deteriorating weather conditions in Punjab city.

Revised Schedule:

26-30 December – 1st Test, Karachi

2-6 January – 2nd Test, Karachi

9 January – 1st ODI, Karachi

11 January – 2nd ODI, Karachi

13 January – 3rd ODI, Karachi

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board appointed former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi as interim chairman of the country’s selection committee for the upcoming series against New Zealand.  PCB said that Abdul Razzaq, Haroon Rashid, and Rao Iftikhar Anjum have also been appointed as members of the committee.
