Pakistan Customs Counter Foreign Goods Worth Rs450 m at Torkham

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Customs Monday seized foreign goods worth Rs450 million from a cargo vehicle at the Torkham border crossing.

Customs Collector Amjad ur Rehman said that the officials operated at the Torkham import terminal on a tip-off. The smuggling goods had been concealed in a vehicle laden with coal. As many as 322 tires and many medicines were among the foreign goods seized.

Customs crackdown against foreign goods smuggling

Collector Amjad ur Rehman said that on the orders of the Ministry of Finance, a crackdown on the smuggling of international goods is going on. He said that Customs had received strict instructions from the Ministry of Finance to stop the smuggling of goods. He said that Customs security had been put on high alert at all four border crossings of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
