ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif called on the international community to take immediate action in response to a recent UN report by the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

The report underscores the forced displacement of Palestinians and the severe food insecurity affecting children.

Prime Minister Sharif on Saturday described the report as fresh evidence of Israel’s ongoing crimes against Palestinians, noting that it highlights the continuous bloodshed and the targeting of Palestinian children.

He emphasized that the violence has persisted for 322 days, with a particular focus on the forced evacuation of 250,000 Palestinians in August—a move he termed a challenge to international institutions, conscience, and law.

The report also details the rapid escalation of Israeli oppression, citing the unjust eviction of 146 Palestinians within just two days. Prime Minister Sharif criticized the dual nature of Israeli actions, pointing out that while deadly force is employed against Palestinians, hunger is being used as an additional weapon.

The prime minister revealed that only one percent of children in Northern Gaza and six percent in the southern part of the city are receiving adequate food. He condemned the intensified attacks on Palestinian civilians by Israeli forces from the air, land, and sea.

Sharif asserted that if the Israeli state, which he accused of committing crimes against humanity, is not held accountable, the responsibility will fall on international institutions themselves.

He described the reports from international organizations as a serious indictment of Israel and called for the punishment of those responsible for these crimes and the protection of the oppressed.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment, Prime Minister Sharif pledged to expedite food deliveries to Palestinians, with a focus on addressing the needs of children.
