NEW YORK: Pakistan Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and his Denmark counterpart, Lars Løkke Rasmussen on Tuesday agreed to implement the Green Framework Engagement agreement through a joint action plan.

They made this decision during a meeting held on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Both parties expressed their contentment with the deepening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Denmark, especially in light of recent high-level exchanges and in the broader context of the European Union. Minister Jilani also extended his gratitude to the Danish government for their assistance to flood victims.

In addition to discussions on bilateral matters, the two foreign ministers deliberated on regional and global developments.

Emphasizing the growing issue of Islamophobia in Europe, Foreign Minister Jilani appreciated Denmark’s government for its proposal to introduce legislation aimed at prohibiting the desecration of the Holy Quran and other sacred religious texts.
