ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Denmark have agreed to work jointly on assistance for Pakistan’s transition to green energy and climate resilience.

The consensus was reached during a meeting between the Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan, Jakob Linulf and Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam, in Islamabad.

During the meeting, they discussed several bilateral matters, focusing on assistance for Pakistan’s transition to green energy, climate resilience, water conservation, and biodiversity protection.

Romina Alam, in her remarks, emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to global climate action, highlighting the country’s support for several international initiatives aimed at safeguarding oceans, biodiversity, and water and energy resources.

Both sides stressed the urgent need for shared efforts to advocate for equitable climate financing for developing countries affected by climate-related disasters, such as floods and heatwaves.
