PESHAWAR: Pakistan has deported a total of 217,825 undocumented Afghan nationals to Afghanistan via three crossing points in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past two months.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Home Department reported on Thursday that the majority of these deportations occurred via the Torkham border. Out of the total, 214,194 illegal Afghan nationals were sent back through the Torkham border, constituting 18,167 families. This includes 60,307 males, 47,221 females, and 106,666 children, covering the period from September 17, 2023, until the present.
Moreover, 3,212 foreign nationals were repatriated to Afghanistan through Angoor Ada at the Lower Waziristan border, and 410 individuals through the Kharlachi border in Kurram district of the province.
On November 15, a significant repatriation event occurred, involving 522 families, including 525 males, 493 females, and 974 children, being sent back to Afghanistan via the Torkham border. Simultaneously, 233 undocumented foreigners were deported through Torkham on the same day.
