ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy prime minister and foreign minister Ishaq Dar has accepted China’s invitation to attend the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) event hosted by China under its Presidency of the council.
China has invited Ishaq Dar to attend the High-Level UN Security Council Event “Practicing Multilateralism, Reforming and Improving Global Governance”, hosted by China under its Presidency of the UNSC, on 18 February 2025 in New York, according to a statement of Pakistan’s Foreign Office.
The invitation was extended by China’s Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong on behalf of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during a meeting with Ishaq Dar in foreign office on Tuesday.

The statement added that the Chinese Ambassador, Jiang Zaidong held meeting with Ishaq Dar and discussed the event and its significance.
Pak-China All-Weather Strategic Partnership
Ishaq Dar accepted the invitation, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to multilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, they reaffirmed the Pak-China All-Weather Strategic Partnership, which is a cornerstone of bilateral relations between the two nations.
During the meeting, the two sides also reviewed the progress of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) C 2.0, a significant project aimed at enhancing economic cooperation and regional connectivity. They expressed their commitment to elevating bilateral ties to new heights, further solidifying their strategic partnership.
