ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) dispatched the 18th relief consignment for the war-affected people of Lebanon on Tuesday, state-run media reported, vowing to continue relief supplies amid Israel’s ongoing military campaigns in the Middle East.
Pakistan has dispatched 95 tons of relief items including winterized tents and blankets from Islamabad International Airport to Beirut, Lebanon.
Following the directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the NDMA continues its humanitarian support for the war-affected populations in Gaza and Lebanon.
The sendoff ceremony at Islamabad International Airport was attended by MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan, Lebanese Ambassador Ghassan Al Khatib, and representatives from the NDMA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At least 43,061 people, among them women and children, have been killed in the ongoing Israeli bombardments since October 7, 2023, across the Gaza Strip as UN agencies and humanitarian organizations warn of the outbreak of diseases and starvation in the area.
Similarly, Israeli strikes in Lebanon have killed at least 2700 people.
