Pakistan, Estonia PMs Vow to Enhance Bilateral Ties

DUBAI: Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has met with his Estonian counterpart, Kaja Kallas on the sidelines of World Climate Action Summit in Dubai on Friday and discussed matters of mutual interests.

During the meeting the two leaders stressed the importance of regular high-level engagement and dialogue to realize the true potential of bilateral relationship.

Prime Minister Kakar highlighted the significance of exploring possibilities of boosting economic ties. Estonian Prime Minister agreed and welcomed the signing of the Convention on Elimination of Double Taxation between the two countries.

The two Prime Ministers talked about the importance of Artificial Intelligence and digital technology in dealing with food insecurity and boosting agricultural productivity.

Prime Minister Kakar showed Pakistan’s willingness to develop cooperative linkages with Estonia especially in higher education, information technology, trade and investment.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister lauded the operationalization of the Loss and Damage Fund and stressed the need for concrete actions in the domain of climate action.

Prime Minister of Estonia in her remarks said that climate change was an issue of global concern and must be addressed collectively. They also agreed to work together to address common challenges such as climate change and food security.
