Pakistan, Ethiopia Discuss Cooperation in Health Sector

ISLAMABAD: A six-member Ethiopian delegation, along with ambassador Jemal Beker Abdula called on senior officials of the health ministry and discussed prospects of cooperation between Pakistan and Ethiopia in the health sector.

The delegation, led by the Vice President of the Jigjiga University of Ethiopia Dr. Abdulahi Hussein, also visited the attached departments of the ministry and academic institutions.

During the meeting, it was agreed that Pakistan and Ethiopia have explored different avenues to expand cooperation in the healthcare sector, particularly through academic and research collaboration.

Ambassador Jemal Beker emphasized establishing institutional contacts in healthcare sector between the two nations.

MoUs Between Pakistan, Ethiopia

Both sides agreed to work out memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to expand the cooperation of the two nations in the health sector.

The delegation also paid a visit to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and discussed cooperation in the medical field.

The delegation called held a meeting with the PIMS Executive Director (ED) and received a briefing on the functioning of the institute.

The health experts from Ethiopia also visited the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan, Al-Maroof Hospital Islamabad, and the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation.
