Pakistan, Ethiopia Discuss Economic Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Ethiopia and Pakistan on Thursday explored different avenues for economic cooperation during a meeting in Islamabad at the Ministry of Finance, local media reported.

Dr. Eyob Tekalign Tolina, State Minister of Finance, led the Ethiopian delegation while the Pakistan side was led by Pakistan’s Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar.

Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan Jameel Ahmad and senior officers of the Ministry of Finance were also present during the meeting. They had a productive discussion on the matters of mutual interest including the bilateral cooperation in financial sector of Pakistan and Ethiopia. The two nations expressed the resolve to bolster economic cooperation between the two countries.

Earlier, Dr. Eyob Tolina along with his delegation was called on Deputy Governor State Bank of Pakistan Dr. Inayat Hussain.  During the talks, cooperation between Pakistan and Ethiopia in the banking sector came under discussion.
