ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Ministry has extended the deadline for the submission of Hajj applications under the Sponsorship Scheme, allowing applicants to apply until December 31.

The decision to extend the deadline was made in response to the requests of overseas Pakistanis. However, the Regular Scheme deadline will not be extended, as it has already reached its quota.

Emphasizing the need for smooth and timely arrangements for Hajj, a ministry spokesperson confirmed that there would be no further extensions for application submissions. The balloting for the regular Government Scheme is scheduled for December 28, with over 66,000 applications received under the scheme.

The spokesperson urged Hajj applicants to obtain signed copies of their computerized Hajj forms from the respective banks and promptly address any errors in their details. This proactive measure is aimed at preventing future inconveniences.

In a related development, Saudi aviation authorities have instructed airlines to submit their Hajj flight schedules by January 2, 2024, ensuring the seamless operation of flights during the pilgrimage.
