Pakistan FM Jilani Condoles Over Tragic Prague University Shooting

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani on Friday expressed his condolence over the loss of lives in a tragic shooting that took place at Charles University of Prague yesterday.

According to media reports, a student opened fire in a Charles University of Prague, killing at least 14 people and wounding more than 20.

The foreign minister expressing heartfelt condolence to the families of the victims, also prayed for the recovery of all the injured.

The foreign minister in a post on social media platform X, formerly twitter said he was deeply saddened by the tragic shooting that took place at Charles University Prague, yesterday. He added in this hour of grief, I express my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and pray for the recovery of all the injured.

The violence in Prague’s historic center sparked evacuations, a huge response by heavily armed police personnel and warnings for citizens to stay indoors.

The shooting occurred at the Charles University’s Faculty of Arts, which sits near main tourist sites like the 14th-century Charles Bridge.

Czech President Petr Pavel said he was “upset” by the violence and expressed “deep sorrow and sincere condolences to the families of the victims.
