ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has expressed his pleasure on the ‘agreement’ for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 as the south Asian nation gears up to host the ICC event after 28 years.
The Champions Trophy 2025 will be the first ICC event hosted by Pakistan since it shared the 1996 World Cup with Sri Lanka and India.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s remarks came just hours after the ICC unveiled the highly-anticipated schedule for the mega event.

In a statement, Naqvi expressed gratitude to fellow ICC members for helping the PCB in achieving a mutually beneficial solution.
“We are pleased that an agreement has been reached based on the principles of equality and respect, showcasing the spirit of cooperation and collaboration that defines our sport,” said Mohsin Naqvi.
“Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the ICC members who played a constructive role in helping us achieve a mutually beneficial solution. Their efforts have been invaluable in prompting the interests of international cricket,” he maintained.
Champions Trophy 2025 Schedule Announced
Naqvi termed hosting the ICC Champions Trophy a significant milestone for Pakistan cricket and vowed to make the event memorable for players, officials, and fans with the country’s renowned hospitality.
He said that hosting the Champions Trophy is a significant milestone for the country, highlighting their resolve to promote cricket at the highest level and showcasing their capabilities as a premier event organizer.
“We are dedicated to ensuring that this event will be a memorable experience for players, official and fans alike.
“Pakistan is elated to welcome the world to the Champions Trophy, and we look forward to extending our renowned hospitality to all,” he said.
Neutral venue
Earlier, on Tuesday, the ICC announced the schedule for the Champions Trophy 2025, which will take place from February 19 to March 9 in Pakistan whereas the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was confirmed as a neutral venue for India’s matches.
The thrilling 19-day competition, in which every match counts in the bid to claim the iconic Champions Trophy white jackets, will see Bangladesh, India, New Zealand, and Pakistan form Group A with Afghanistan, Australia, England and South Africa in Group B, ICC stated in a press release.
The stadiums in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi will host the matches in Pakistan, while Dubai will host Indian matches.
