ISLAMABAD: Lt. Gen. Muhammad Ali has been appointed as new Defense Secretary of Pakistan and will assume his responsibilities from October 1.
The Establishment Division issued a notification on Friday confirming the three-star general’s appointment, which will last for two years and three months until his retirement.
His vast military background and experience are expected to play a vital role in shaping the country’s defence policies during his tenure.
Lt Gen Ali is currently serving as the quarter master general in Pakistan Army’s GHQ in Rawalpindi. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military).
