Pakistan: Govt Drops Petrol Bomb on Inflation-hit People After ‘Mini-budget’,

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s government has increased the price of petrol to historic high hours following unveiling a tax-loaded ‘mini-budget’.
The new prices of petroleum products will come into effect from 12 am tonight, a press release from the Finance Division said.

The Finance division said that the price of petrol has been moved to 272 rupees per liter after an increase of 22 rupees, noting that the surge has taken place because of the rupee’s devaluation against the dollar.

As per the press release of Finance division, the price of high-speed diesel has been increased to 280 rupees per liter following a hike of 17.20 rupees. Consumers will buy Kerosene oil at 202.73 rupees per liter after12.90 rupees hike. The price of light diesel oil has also been increased 196.68 rupees per liter after an increase of 9.68 rupees.
