ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a hike in the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs10 per kilogram, following the recent increase in petrol prices. The new price of LPG per kilogram has been fixed at Rs 229.

According to the notification, the price of a domestic cylinder of LPG has been raised by Rs120, while the commercial cylinder will cost Rs450 more. The increase in LPG prices has caused concern among the public, who are already struggling with the rising cost of living.

This announcement comes a day after the federal government raised the price of petrol by Rs10 per litre for the next 15 days. The finance minister explained that the hike in petroleum prices in the global market and exchange rate variation were the main reasons behind the hike.

Petrol price increased

As a result, the price of petrol has been increased to Rs282 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) and light diesel oil rates remained unchanged at Rs293 per litre and Rs174.68 per litre, respectively.

Moreover, the government has also raised the price of kerosene oil by Rs5.78 per litre, from Rs180.28 per litre to Rs186.07 per litre. This decision has also been criticized by the public, who fear that it will add to their financial burden.

The recent increase in fuel and LPG prices is likely to have a major impact on the economy and the daily lives of the people. The government has been urged to take measures to control inflation and provide relief to the public.
