ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said on Tuesday that the federal government has thwarted the wicked designs of anarchic elements through timely redressal of the demand of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
He was addressing a media conference alongside Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam outside Parliament House, Islamabad.
He said the resolution of demands regarding subsidies on flour and electricity issue was an example of efficient decision-making on the part of government.
The minister warned that no one would be allowed to create chaos in Azad Kashmir.
Atta Tarar said Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein and Pakistan has raised the matter of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) at every forum.
Minister Offers Condolences to Bereaved Family of Police Personnel
He also commiserated with the bereaved family of the police personnel martyred during the protest and said the government would support his family.
Regarding the economic situation of the country, Tarar said that the government’s efforts were yielding fruits as economic indicators were showing improvements with a downward trend in inflation and upward in investment.
The minister said that international reports were showing a positive trajectory for Pakistan’s economy.
Speaking on the occasion, Amir Muqam thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for timely intervention to solve the problem.
He said there were elements who wanted to use the situation for their vested interest and had nothing to do with the grievances of the Kashmiris.
Amir Muqam said the amicable resolution of the prices issue was a defeat for such elements and a victory for Pakistan and Kashmir.
