Pakistan Govt Removing Hurdles to Foreign Investment: PM Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the government is taking all measures to remove all barriers in the way of foreign investment in Pakistan.

He made the remarks while talking to the Chairman of the internationally renowned petroleum company Gunvor Group Torbjorn Tornqvist and Regional Vice President of Total Energies Mehmet Celepoglu, who called on him in Islamabad on Monday.

The Prime Minister noted that the economy of Pakistan is stabilizing and moving towards development. He highlighted that swift reforms are being made to enhance investment and business activities in the country.

The Prime Minister stressed the continuation of the positive outcomes of practical economic and business policies.

The Chairman of Gunvor Group during the meeting expressed a strong interest in investing in Pakistan’s petroleum sector.

The Prime Minister was briefed that Gunvor Group has already inked an agreement to acquire 50 percent of Total Parco’s shares in Pakistan.

The PM directed the relevant authorities to provide every possible facility to Gunvor Group for its investment in the country.
