Pakistan Intl Mountain Film Festival Starts Tomorrow at PNCA

ISLAMABAD: Featuring as many as 26 films on nature, tourism, travel, landscapes, and mountain biodiversity, the 8th edition of the Pakistan International Mountain Film Festival (PIMFF) will start here on Saturday (November 26) at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA).

The film festival is the only event of its kind celebrating the art of filmmaking in the country. Wajahat Malik and Maryam Cheema founded the film festival in 2015.

This festival is among the three mountain film festivals in the whole of Asia. The festival is of international repute among the mountaineering and film community was conceived. An Islamabad-based film production company, Eyebez Films organized the festival.

The Film Festival Will Bring Together Artists and Filmmakers with Mountaineers

The aim of PIMFF was to bring together artists and filmmakers with adventure enthusiasts and mountaineers on a common platform of discourse and exchanging ideas.

PIMFF is a significant global platform working for the promotion of independent cinemas in Pakistan. The platform also works for encouraging adventure and alpine activities, said Wajahat Malik while talking to APP on Friday.

TV Actor Jamal Shah and Others will Perform Jury of the Film Festival

The jury of the film festival includes Jamal Shah a well-known television actor, singer, and celebrated fine artist of Pakistan, Faisal Rehman – a prominent name of Silver Screen and Television, Ian Wall- part of the team that established the ‘original’ Kendal Mountain Film Festival in 1980 and Salman Shahid – one of Pakistan’s best actors who have worked in many films, stage plays and TV shows, particularly comedy shows. – APP
