ISLAMABAD: Iran and Pakistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance Maritime cooperation.
According to Radio Pakistan, the MoU has signed between the Iranian border guards and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) during the visit of Secretary of Defence Lt.Gen (Retd) Hamooduz Zaman to Iran. It would strengthen ties between Iranian border guards and PMSA.
Upon arrival in Tehran, the Defence Secretary was welcomed by the Iranian Deputy Defence Minister.
During the occasion, the Iranian Deputy Defence Minister expressed best wishes for Pakistan’s military and political leadership.
The Secretary of Defence emphasised the significant bilateral ties between Iran and Pakistan. He expressed the hope that bilateral ties will continue to evolve on principles of mutual respect and shared common interests.
During negotiations, both sides aimed to further enhance the collaboration in various places of common interest, including security, joint counter-terrorism measures, and ensuring regional economic connectivity.
