HANGZHOU: Pakistan’s Kabaddi team secured a spot in the semi-finals of the Asian Games after a commanding victory against Malaysia in a Men’s Kabaddi match held at Hangzhou on Wednesday.
Pakistan outplayed Malaysia, scoring 58 points while Malaysia managed to secure 35 points, confirming a medal for Pakistan in the event, as losing semi-finalists are awarded a bronze medal in the Asian Games.
In their earlier match on Tuesday, Pakistan demonstrated their prowess by defeating South Korea with a remarkable score of 56-21 points. This victory was Pakistan’s first win in the tournament’s Group B matches. The win held significant importance for Pakistan as they had faced a defeat in their initial group game against the defending champions, Iran.
The semi-final matches are scheduled for October 6, where Pakistan will continue their quest for the gold medal. The gold medal match is set to take place on the following day, October 7, promising an exciting showdown as Pakistan aims to secure the top spot in the prestigious event.
