ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has applauded the efforts of Saudi Arabia to end violence in Gaza due to Israel’s genocidal actions.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Saudi Deputy Minister of Interior Dr. Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Dawood in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister praised the Saudi leadership for hosting the Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh and the stance of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman over the issue of Palestine, Radio Pakistan reported.
He appreciated the role of Saudi leadership in unifying the Ummah to collectively seek an end to violence in Gaza.
Shehbaz Sharif also reiterated his invitation to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at his earliest convenience. He added the people of Pakistan are waiting to accord a very warm welcome to the Crown Prince.
PM Shehbaz noted that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are working together to further strengthen their relations into mutually beneficial economic and investment cooperation.
He expressed his satisfaction over the implementation of MoUs signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to invest $ 2.8 billion in the country.
Noting the historic ties between the two countries, Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Saudi leadership and government for always supporting Pakistan.
Stressing the importance of cooperation in defence and security cooperation, the Prime Minister said the visit of the Deputy Interior Minister and his delegation would help bring both sides closer in terms of cooperation in these sensitive areas.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi and the Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki were also present on the occasion.
