Pakistan Launches Advanced Communication Satellite, PAKSAT MM1, into Space

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan, in collaboration with China, has successfully launched its second communication satellite, PAKSAT MM1, into space on Thursday.

The advanced communication satellite, launched from China’s Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC), aimed to propel Pakistan into the digital age by extending internet access to remote regions, as stated by the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco).

Expected to reach space in approximately four days, PAKSAT MM1 holds promise in establishing an intricate communication network to meet the burgeoning demands of the telecom sector. With its advanced capabilities, it is poised to cater for the increasing demand for high-speed internet and seamless connectivity.

Suparco stated that the satellite, equipped with communication services in C, Ku, Ka Bands, and SBAS services in L Band, is a high-power multi-mission satellite.

It is expected to significantly contribute to the socio-economic development of Pakistan by leveraging advanced communication technologies.
