Pakistan LEAs, Govt Departments to Continue Actions Against Illegal Activities: COAS

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Friday visited Karachi where he attended a meeting of the Sindh Provincial Apex Committee along with Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh, Justice (Retired) Maqbool Baqar, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a press release.

During the Apex Committee meeting, the Army Chief was briefed about Revised National Action Plan, operation in Kacha Area of Sindh, security of Foreign Nationals employed on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Non CPEC, and Private Projects. The Committee was also briefed on repatriation of illegal foreigners, Karachi Transformation Plan, foreign currency regularization measures, progress on Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) initiatives in Sindh and Green Sindh initiatives.

During the meeting, the COAS emphasized “Law Enforcement Agencies and other government departments will continue the enforcement actions against range of illegal activities with full force to deny pilferage of resources and economic losses that the country suffers due to these activities”.

The Army Chief underscored the need for synergy among all concerned departments for gainful effects of the landmark initiatives.

The Apex Committee participants affirmed that state institutions, government departments and people are united for progress and prosperity of the province.

Earlier, upon arrival, the Army Chief was received by Commander Karachi Corps.
