Pakistan Lodges Strong Protest with India Over Civilians’ Killing Along LoC

ISLAMABAD: The Indian Charge d’ Affaires was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here on Saturday to register a strong protest by Pakistan over the ceasefire violation committed by the Indian forces in the Satwal Sector of the Line of Control (LoC).

The incident occurred on Saturday (24 June), where two civilians were killed, and another one was injured.

Pakistan Condemns Ceasefire Violation

Condemning the deplorable targeting of innocent civilians by the Indian forces, it was highlighted that such senseless acts were in clear violation of the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding, reaffirmed in February 2021.

It was further emphasized that targeting civilians is contrary to human dignity and international human rights, and humanitarian laws.

In Addition, the Indian side was also urged to respect the Ceasefire Understanding, investigate the incident, and maintain peace and stability along the Line of Control.
