Pakistan, Maldives Resolve to Enhance Cooperation in Diverse Sectors

NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to increase cooperation with the Maldives in the fields of tourism, education, trade, investment and climate change.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed this resolve while talking to President of the Maldives Dr Mohamed Muizzu on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, both the leaders underscored the deep-rooted relations between Pakistan and the Maldives. They also agreed on the need for enhanced people-to-people exchanges and collaborative efforts to promote economic growth and sustainable development in their respective countries.

Both sides also recognized the shared responsibility of South Asian countries to work together for peace, prosperity, and stability in the region.
