Pakistan MMA Athletes Meet PM Shehbaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD: Athletes and officials from the Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad today.

During the meeting, the athletes provided insights into the recent Mixed Martial Arts Combat event held in Lahore. Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that promoting sports activities is a top priority for the government.

He commended the athletes for their outstanding skills and assured them that the government would fully support the Martial Arts Federation in promoting these sports.

The Prime Minister praised the Federation’s efforts to host international events in Pakistan, noting the significance of creating an enabling environment for youth to realize their potential. He committed to ensuring that Pakistani players representing the country in international competitions receive comprehensive sponsorship.

At the meeting, Federation officials and athletes presented their recommendations for enhancing the sport. Prime Minister Sharif instructed the relevant authorities to review these proposals and develop a strategy for furthering the sport.

The Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation’s Combat Week, held from August 18 to 22 in Lahore, saw Pakistan win twelve gold medals in the Asian Martial Arts category.
