Pakistan, Morocco Discuss Bilateral Ties at Parliamentary Friendship Group Meeting

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan-Morocco Parliamentary Friendship Group held its first meeting on Wednesday.

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Pakistan Mohamed Karmoune attended the meeting chaired by Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, MNA and Convener of the group.

The discussion focused on strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and Morocco. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig welcomed the Moroccan Ambassador and expressed satisfaction with the current cordial relations, emphasizing the commitment to further enhance these ties through cooperation.

The meeting explored various avenues for collaboration, with the Moroccan Ambassador highlighting Morocco’s interest in deepening bilateral and economic relations with Pakistan.

The Parliamentary Friendship Group underscored the importance of revitalizing the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) to facilitate comprehensive cooperation.

The group reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening its relationship with Morocco and stressed the need for ongoing engagement between the two nations.

Both sides agreed on the significant role of Parliamentary Friendship Groups in advancing parliamentary diplomacy, fostering people-to-people connections, and reinforcing parliamentary relations.

The meeting was attended by members including Syed Naveed Qamar, Shaista Pervaiz, Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, Khursheed Ahmed Jonejo, Makhdoom Syed Sami ul Hassan Gillani, and Sabheen Ghoury, said the statement.
