ISLAMABAD: The third Pak-Morocco Joint Bilateral Military Exercise 2025 between the Armies of Pakistan and Morocco started on Monday in Cherat, with a focus on counter-terrorism operations, Pakistan’s military media wing said.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Special Services Group (SSG) of the Pakistan Army and the Special Forces of the Moroccan Army are participating in the exercise.
The opening ceremony of the exercise was held at the Special Operations School in Cherat, focusing on counter-terrorism operations, said ISPR.
Commandant Special Operation School, Cherat, was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
“The exercise is aimed at refining professional skills through joint training and harnessing historic military-to-military relations among the friendly countries,” the ISPR said.
Participating troops are looking forward to benefiting from mutual expertise and experience.
“Both forces will exchange advanced counter-terrorism techniques to bolster operational readiness,” the statement added.
Pakistan maintains close and friendly relations with Arab countries, marked by strong defence cooperation.
This partnership includes regular joint training exercises, collaboration in defence production, and the sharing of counter-terrorism intelligence.
According to Pakistan’s foreign office, the bilateral ties between Pakistan and Morocco are marked by cordial ties and historic fraternity.
In November last year, Moroccan Air Force Inspector Major General Mohammed Gadih expressed his interest in collaborating with the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in the aerospace sector.
During his visit, the Pakistani Air Chief reiterated his commitment to strengthening military cooperation with Morocco, particularly through joint training programs at both basic and tactical levels for Moroccan Air Force personnel.
