ISLAMABAD: Pakistan National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Saturday suspended membership of opposition lawmaker for using vulgar language in the House.

The PTI backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) MNA Sanaullah Khan Mastikhel made offensive remarks directed at Defense Minister Khawaja Asif.

The incident occurred during Mastikhel’s speech, in which he claimed that his faction was elected through “form 45,” while alleging that the current government was elected through “form 47.”

The provocative statement led to immediate commotion in the House, disrupting proceedings and forcing the Speaker to adjourn the session temporarily.

The situation escalated when female members of the Assembly approached the Speaker’s chamber to register their protest against Mastikhel’s inappropriate language.

Responding to their grievances, Speaker Sadiq decided to suspend Mastikhel’s membership for the ongoing session.

“I have been a part of this House, and such language has never been used on the microphone,” Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated, adding that Sanaullah Mastikhel had seriously violated the Assembly Rules.

“I have no words to condemn such behavior,” stated Speaker Sadiq, emphasizing the need for maintaining decorum and respect within parliamentary proceedings. The Speaker’s decision underscores the Assembly’s commitment to upholding parliamentary standards and ensuring respectful discourse among its members.
