Pakistan Navy, CTF 150 Jointly Conduct Anti-Narcotics Operation in Arabian Sea: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Navy and Combined Task Force 150 (CTF-150) have jointly conducted a major ant-narcotics operation in the northern Arabian Sea, a military statement said on Thursday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy Ship PNS Zulfikar and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency Ship Kolachi participated in the operation named “Himalayan Spirit”.

The statement said the US Navy aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, US Coast Guard and Pakistan Navy aircraft also provided assistance in the joint operation.

It said that during the operation, 1.3 tonnes of hashish was recovered from a suspected boat. The value of the seized drugs in the international market is about US $ 26 million.

ISPR said that the Pakistan Navy is currently leading Combined Task Force 150 to enhance maritime security in fighting illegal activities in the Arabian Sea.
