Pakistan Navy Day Being Commemorated with National Zeal, Fervor: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy is commemorating Navy Day to mark its stunning performance against a much bigger enemy during the 1965 War, a military statement said on Sunday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the day dawned with special prayers for the security of Pakistan and the success of Kashmir’s freedom struggle in all mosques of the Pakistan Navy.
It said that on September 8, 1965, during Operation Somnath, Pakistan Navy ships attacked the Indian port of Dwarka, destroying the Indian radar station.
The statement said Ghazi, the only submarine of the Pakistan Navy, maintained its dominance in the Indian Ocean during the war and paralyzed the five times larger Indian Navy.
Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf in his message said that September 8 is a golden chapter in the history of the Pakistan Navy, which reminds us of the eternal sacrifices and passions of our sailors.
He noted that the Pakistan Navy is recognized as a strong naval force in the region.  He added that the Pakistan Navy is inducting modern warships, submarines and maritime aircraft to further strengthen the country’s naval defence.
On this day the officers, sailors and civilians of the Pakistan Navy express their resolve to stand firm to defend their homeland in case of any aggression till their last breath and last drop of blood.
