Pakistan Navy Ship ASLAT visits Oman

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Navy Ship ASLAT has visited Oman during deployment on Regional Maritime Security Patrol, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Navy’s ship was given a warm welcome by the Omani naval authorities upon its arrival at the port of Salalah in Oman.

During the visit, the Commanding Officer of PNS ASLAT met with Omani military officials and discussed matters of mutual interest.

At the end of the visit, the naval forces of both countries participated in a joint exercise.

The ISPR in the statement said earlier, the PNS ASLAT had also participated in Operation Scarlet Trident and naval exercise with the British Royal Navy ship HMS Lancaster.

During the drill, sea search and rescue, helicopter landing, anti-narcotics, and anti-trafficking maritime operations were practiced.

The purpose of these exercises is to promote cooperation between the naval forces of the two friendly countries, prevent illegal activities at sea and establish regional peace and stability.

The visit to Oman and the participation in the joint naval exercise demonstrate the commitment of the Pakistan Navy to regional stability, international cooperation, and the development of naval capabilities.
