RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Navy Ship PNS Zulfiqar has rescued 23 Iranian fishermen in the Gulf of Aden, a military statement said on Thursday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said PNS Zulfikar received an emergency call from Iranian fisherman boat ‘Al Mohammadi’ while on regional maritime security patrol.
It said the Iranian boat informed that it was 1200 nautical miles from its port, with one crew member severely wounded and engine failure.
The crew of PNS Zulfikar immediately repaired the engine while providing medical and technical assistance to the fishermen.
The ISPR said that the ships of the Pakistan Navy rescue the distressed vessels at sea during patrolling.
The humanitarian rescue operation demonstrates the commitment of the Pakistan Navy towards the safety and security of ships.
