Pakistan Offers Support and Condolences to Morocco After Deadly Earthquake

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has offered support in the relief efforts after a powerful earthquake rattled Morocco, killing over 820 people and injuring hundreds across the quake zone.

The people of Pakistan and the government stand in solidarity with the Kingdom of Morocco in the aftermath of the recent deadly earthquake, said Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She offered heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the Moroccan nation for the tragic loss of lives in the earthquake that occurred yesterday.

Pakistan Reaches Out to Its Community

“We have also conveyed our offer of assistance to Morocco,” Mumtaz Zahra Baloch stated in a press release. The spokesperson said that Pakistan’s Embassy in Rabat has proactively reached out to the Pakistani community in Morocco to inquire about their safety. According to initial reports, all Pakistani nationals are safe. She added that they are monitoring the situation to facilitate them in the wake of this tragedy.

According to Moroccan state media, the powerful earthquake, measuring a magnitude of 6.8, has resulted in at least 820 fatalities and 672 injuries.
