ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan categorically rejected the possibility of talks with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-a major ally of the ruling alliance- on the no-confidence motion or any other matter.

The main opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) jailed founder chairman alleged that both the Sindh-ruling party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz were the same, local media quoted Imran Khan as saying.

“There’s no distinction between the PPP and the PML-N; they are both products of the same ‘Form 47’,” he remarked informally to reporters during his hearing of the £190 million case at Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi on Saturday.

“I won’t entertain any talks with the PPP on any issue, including the no-confidence motion, unless I decide to reclaim power. I am prepared to spend my entire life in jail, and claims that I would back down from my stance are unfounded,” said the PTI founder.

He expressed the opinion that if the ECP does not allocate seats to PTI despite the Supreme Court’s ruling, Article 6 (high treason) should be applied to the commission.

Earlier today, PTI leader Asad Qaiser dismissed reports suggesting negotiations with the Pakistan People’s Party as “baseless and misleading” in a statement.

He clarified that neither he nor any other PTI leader had made any remarks about discussions with the PPP, and emphasized that Imran Khan had not instructed the party to engage in such talks.

Earlier, Barrister Gohar noted that the Supreme Court’s decision had silenced those predicting a ban on PTI.
