Shahzaib Khan Shines with 159 as Pakistan Posts 281 Against India in U-19 Asia Cup

DUBAI: Pakistan set a competitive total of 281/7 against India in their Under-19 Asia Cup 2024 match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

An impressive knock of 159 by Shahzaib Khan fixed Pakistan’s innings, leading the charge with an inspiring display of batting before being dismissed by Samarth in the final over.

Usman Khan also made a valuable contribution with 60 runs, but his wicket was claimed by Mhatre. Pakistan’s total gives them a strong foundation as they look to defend their target against a formidable Indian side.

Indian Samarth Nagaraj claimed three wickets while Ayush Mhatre took two wickets in the match against Pakistan.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first against India. Pakistan, having won the Under-19 Asia Cup twice in the past, is determined to add another title to their trophy cabinet.

Their young squad, known for its aggressive batting and strong bowling attack, will look to build a solid foundation early in the innings, hoping to post a challenging total for India.

With Pakistan and India both vying for the top spot in Group A, this match promises to be crucial for both teams in their pursuit for advancement.
