ISLAMABAD: During the ongoing National T20 Cup, Pakistani fast bowler Zaman Khan, currently representing Rawalpindi, revealed that cricketing icon Shoaib Akhtar served as his inspiration to pursue a career as a fast bowler.

In an interview, the 22-year-old, who has showcased promising performances in the domestic T20 competition, credited Shoaib Akhtar’s influence on his journey into the world of fast bowling.

Zaman Khan, who has secured four wickets from three matches in the tournament, expressed his admiration for Shoaib Akhtar, stating, “I got obsessed to become a fast bowler by watching Shoaib Akhtar’s performances. I have been seeing him perform since childhood.” He emphasized the impact of Shoaib Akhtar’s cricketing prowess on his career aspirations.

Zaman Khan Reveals About Earlier Financial Challenges

Reflecting on his cricketing journey, Zaman Khan shared some personal struggles he faced, including financial challenges in the past. He revealed there was a time when he couldn’t afford shoes and played a night match wearing slippers. However, the pacer noted that his situation improved as he continued to work hard and started earning.

Zaman Khan, having played seven matches and secured four wickets for the Pakistan national team, highlighted his dedication to the sport. He earned his place in the national team through relentless effort and commitment to honing his skills.
