ISLAMABAD: The government has planned to develop a ten-year roadmap for accelerated adoption of Artificial Intelligence in the development, governance, business, education, and healthcare sectors.
In this regard, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal formed a fifteen-member national task force.
The task force comprises experts in artificial intelligence and representatives from the private and government sectors.
Stressing AI’s importance for future progress, Iqbal said it would bring transformative changes in governance, economy, and education.
The task force aims to harness AI power for the country’s development and growth and ensure the benefits are accessible to all strata of society.
The minister said that forming a national task force on AI was part of the government’s commitment to embracing this technology and utilizing its potential to transform Pakistan’s economic landscape positively.
He said that the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz government in 2018 had established a national AI centre for AI. Now, Pakistan can unlock new opportunities for development and growth and improve the lives of its people by investing in this field.

He stressed the important role of AI in driving economic development and growth for Pakistan. The minister said that the integration of AI in the governance, education, and healthcare systems has the potential to revolutionize these areas and bring about considerable progress.
