Pakistan PM Asks World to Implement Resolution on Gaza

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed the United Nations Security Council’s (UNSC) resolution for truce in Gaza, asked the world to ensure its immediate implementation.

In a statement, PM Shehbaz Sharif said that the barbarism by the Israeli troops against the unarmed Palestinians should be stopped permanently.

Shehbaz Sharif added that thousands of children and women had been martyred consequent to the barbaric assaults by Israeli forces.

The PM strongly denounced the deliberate bombardment of refugees’ camps and hospitals by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip.

Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that Islamabad would continue to supporting and assisting their Palestinian brethren till the achievement of a Palestinian state with pre-1967 borders.

Earlier, the UNSC approved the resolution for ceasefire in the Gaza five months into the grinding conflict. Israel’s close ally the US abstained the vote. Majority countries have reacted to the resolution to halt fighting over the Muslim holy month of Ramadan with an aim for a “lasting” ceasefire.
