LAHORE: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif has appreciated Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi’s principled stance on the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
He made the remarks during a meeting in Lahore on Sunday, Radio Pakistan reported.
Mohsin Naqvi informed the Prime Minister that the PCB is fully prepared to host the Champions Trophy tournament in Pakistan. The Prime Minister said that in the ICC, Chairman PCB has represented the voice of 240 million Pakistanis.
It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has proposed a “Partnership Formula” after India refused to play in Pakistan. The formula, also referred to as “Fusion Formula,” suggests that India plays its ICC matches in Dubai rather than Pakistan, and Pakistan plays its matches in Dubai instead of India when hosted by either country.
Earlier, an Indian media outlet claimed that BCCI has agreed on the new model which is expected to be executed. However, the Indian board is yet to make anything official.

He further said the ICC had postponed Saturday’s meeting as the decision is yet to be made on the Champions Trophy. The PCB chairman also expressed resolve to improve domestic cricket in order to find talented players.
