Pakistan PM Lays Wreath on Martyrs’ Monument During Gilgit Baltistan Visit

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar laid a floral wreath at the monument of martyrs at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat during his two days official visit to Gilgit Baltistan on Tuesday.

The premier was accompanied by Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti and Information Minister Murtaza Solangi during his visit to the martyrs’ monument. A contingent of GB Scouts presented the prime minister with a guard of honour.

Mohyuddin Ahmen Wani, Chief Secretary of Gilgit Baltistan, briefed Prime Minister Kakar on a variety of issues.

Later, the prime minister went to see an exhibition of science models exhibited by students from local schools. He was fascinated by the pupils’ inventive models and interacted with them. The students presented numerous models illustrating power generation from hydel and solar sources to offset the effects of climate change.

The prime minister praised the children’s abilities and stated that Pakistan’s outstanding youth would lead to a bright future. He admired the environmental knowledge of young girls and boys.

Gilgit Baltistan Governor Meets PM Kakar

Syed Mehdi Shah, Governor of Gilgit Baltistan, met with Prime Minister Kakar and briefed him on administrative matters as well as the law and order situation in Gilgit Baltistan, read a statement issued by the PM Office Media Wing.

On this occasion, the governor also thanked the prime minister for his visit to Gilgit Baltistan and expressed his keen interest in the region’s development.
