ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reaffirmed the country’s commitment to eradicating terrorism, emphasising that national progress and prosperity are directly linked to its fight against terrorism.
Addressing the Federal Cabinet meeting, the prime minister also highlighted the significant economic strides the country is poised to make.
The prime minister briefed the cabinet regarding the visit of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, noting the strong brotherly ties between Turkiye and Pakistan.
He added that the Turkish President’s visit had been warmly welcomed by the people of Pakistan, with Turkiye consistently supporting Pakistan on global forums, including advocating for the rights of the people of Kashmir and Palestine.
PM Shehbaz further termed the recent Gallup survey, revealing that 55 per cent of Pakistanis have shown confidence in the business environment, a positive sign for the country’s future.
He acknowledged that there was still much work to be done to accelerate economic growth.
“We need to ensure continued hard work, and with collective effort, Pakistan will surely achieve its rightful place,” said the Prime Minister.

The PM discussing the significance of creating favourable domestic conditions for economic growth, underscored that the upcoming budget would be crucial in setting the stage for the country’s economic agenda.
The prime minister also paid rich tribute to Lieutenant Hassan Ashraf, who was killed in a confrontation with foreign terrorists. He lauded the 21-year-old officer for sacrificing his life to protect the nation and vowed that such sacrifices would ensure lasting peace and prosperity in Pakistan.
